Statin Scam Exposed: Cholesterol Drugs Cause Rapid Aging, Brain Damage And Diabetes

There is currently a Scandal involving Statins which is a class of prescribed drugs that helps to reduce bad cholesterol and lower the risk of cardiovascular problems in people.
It is believed that this drug is highly detrimental to the health of users. These drugs which include brands like Zocor, Crestor and Lipitor are taken by a large number of people in the U.S. To put this in perspective it is estimated that prescription drugs spending rose to about $374 billion in 2014, which represents the highest level of spending since the early 2000 with Statins being a major part of the spending.
The American Journal of Physiology published a study on Statins stating it’s adverse effect on stem cells, it further stated that these adverse effects include pre-mature aging, increased risk of diabetes and skeletal weakness or myopathy.
It is believed by experts that the adverse effects of statins had been overlooked over time. People who have been taking cholesterol-lowering drugs have experienced memory loss, muscle pain, fatigue and liver problems.
A stem cell biologist Professor Reza Izadpanah published a study on how statins may speed up the aging process and he was vehement in his assertions that people using statins as a preventative medication should rethink their use of this class of drugs because of its highly detrimental effects to their health.
Even the FDA states on its website that cognitive impairment such as forgetfulness, confusion and memory loss have been reported by a number of Statins users also that using statins can increase a person’s blood sugar level and lead to the risk of developing type II diabetes.
FDA also directs people’s attention to the recommendation of Amy G. Egan, M.D., M.P.H. the deputy director for safety in the FDA’s Division of Metabolism and Endocrinology Products (DMEP).
In which she stated that while the health implications of statins is true, people should not be scared of taking the drug as it has undeniable and indisputable benefits, they should only take the drug with caution and a full understanding of its side effects.
However, critics have expressed their dissatisfaction with her statement as it seems like the health implication of Statins far outweigh its benefits.
