For centuries, salt has been used as a cleansing tool. This is because salt is very useful, cheap, and completely safe for use as it contains no toxins or harmful substances. Therefore, take a look at some of the ways in which you can use salt to clean your home or office or use it as a cosmetic product:
- Keeps ants away
If you frequently have ants in your office or home, sprinkle some salt onto the areas where you most frequently notice them. In this way, you will lower the humidity levels in your home and thus, keep ants away.
- Copper, silver, and brass cleaner
If you have ornaments from the abovementioned materials, salt is the perfect tool to keep them clean. You’ll need to mix some vinegar and salt and rub the ornaments with the mixture.
- Cleanser for house and car windows
Mix a gallon of warm water and a tbsp. of salt. Then, rub the windows with the mixture and they will literally glow!
- Sink drain cleaner
Mix some warm water and a bit of salt. Put the mixture into the sink. Thanks to the salt, the accumulated grease which clogs the drain will melt.
- Skin rejuvenator
Mix lavender or olive oil and some salt. Rub this mixture onto your whole body and then get into the shower. The salt will remove dead skin cells and it will rejuvenate your skin.
- Skin brighter
In order to make your fiber rugs or curtains look as new, soak one cloth in a mixture of salt and water and then rub the carpets and rugs with the cloth.
- Toothache remedy
If you happen to have mouth sores or if you have a toothache, mix a bit of salt and warm water and then whirl it in the mouth.
- Teeth whitener
If you want to have whiter teeth, mix some salt and baking soda and brush your teeth with the mixture. Your teeth will be whiter and cleaner in no time!
